I love Christmas. One of my favorite things in the world is sitting in front of the Christmas tree with a holiday-scented candle burning (Nest makes my favorite), sipping mulled wine, cider, or hot chocolate (L.A. Burdick makes my favorite), and signing cards to all the people I love and appreciate.
Winter isn’t the most obvious time for a family photo session, but after the holiday craziness dies down, a lot of families find it easier to schedule. Many of my clients opted to send photo Valentines this year, if they failed to make the Christmas and New Year’s cards deadlines. In case you’re worried about pink noses and making layers work, I put together three concepts for inspiration from photo sessions I did in France this winter that prove it to be a wonderfully creative season for a shoot.

Ah, Paris… It just might be the most visually inspiring place on earth. I had a blast working with Fifi, a young aspiring model who’s based there. She has the sweetest energy, n’est pas?

Trying something new… this is a stream-of-consciousness excerpt from my travel journal…
This summer, I got to work with some wonderful families, shooting on location all around New York City. From Brooklyn to Tribeca, and all the way up to the Conservatory Gardens in Central Park (and many places in between!), these photos showcase some of the fun adventures I had the chance to capture with young New Yorkers and their parents.
