Isn’t Thanksgiving the best holiday? It’s all about eating delicious food and being grateful — what’s cooler than that?
I woke up in the guest bedroom of my friends’ gorgeous condo in Santa Monica this morning, struck by my outrageous good luck. It’s been an astonishingly fun year. I literally checked off my entire bucket list in Europe this fall, at which time I started a new mantra: “I can never complain about anything ever again.”
Of course that is easier said than done… We all get hungry sometimes before we can eat, we all have days when we’re overworked or overtired or both. It’s easy to fall into complaining about things that annoy us.
But so many amazing things had been happening for me that I decided to try to stop complaining, and it’s so weird, but I swear it’s like awesome things have just kept coming my way. Like, my attitude was more in the spirit of adventure, so whatever came along I tackled with a sense of curiosity. Also, the more I didn’t complain, the more cool stuff kept literally happening. I now have a crazy adventure in store this winter, which of course, I’ll document here. Suffice it to say, my Fiat will be gaining some major mileage.
In the meantime, I am enjoying the fact that I got to spend the day baking pies yesterday for my friends’ gourmet Thanksgiving – honored that my pies are of the caliber of this meal, seriously!! And, that I walked my cappuccino over to the beach this morning for some peace and restoration (for me, not the cappuccino).
How are you celebrating today? Thanks so much for reading! And, Happy Thanksgiving, friends.
