San Francisco
What’s my recipe for a successful family photo shoot? Hope for good weather, find a location that suits the family, and leave space for that je-ne-sais-quoi to swoop in and complete the magic.
In this case, letting the kids find spots to sit and stand helped create that last puzzle piece. Smiles come out authentic and content when kids get to have it their way for a little while. Plus, they then seem to cooperate a little better when parents want certain poses, too. I treat it like a collaboration, and kids love this kind of respect. I mean, who doesn’t like to have a say in how things go? It makes it more fun for everyone.
