These days, extended families are spread across continents and perhaps only see each other a couple of times a year. That means family get-togethers have become an ideal photo opp.
When I work with an extended family, we get a variety of smaller group photos, as well as the full family shot, including grandparents. It’s a chance for everyone to update their family photo, and commemorate their time together. It’s always fun to photograph young cousins, who are usually quite excited to see each other!
I also recommend selecting a backdrop that tells the story of where you are — family vacation in San Francisco, or reunion in NYC? Make sure the photos tell the story.
