San Francisco
Friends all over San Francisco and the Bay Area came out to support the final push party for The Butterfly Joint, a woodworking and design studio for kids ages 4 and up. Here, some young friends are making crafts to take home, courtesy of Yellow Owl Workshop.
Local teen band The Out of Controllers rocked Thee Parkside with everything from Weezer covers to kids songs about the appropriate places to cross the street. So good!
A little owl told me the tater tots were not to be missed — and I was not disappointed. It turns out Thee Parkside makes a fantastic burger with pickled onions, too.
The coolest thing, of course, was that the party helped The Butterfly Joint’s fundable campaign come in significantly over its goal — which means the community came together to make this woodshop happen, and gave it a good start towards securing a location.
Here’s the pledge station, buzzing with excitement. The raffle prizes were pretty amazing — check out the list of fantastic sponsors below.
Danny Montoya and his family have been slaving away to make the design studio a reality. I’m assuming since I’m over the age of 4, I can enroll in a woodworking class? Can’t wait for it to open! Stay tuned to The Butterfly Joint website for details as they announce their location and opening date.
