Happy Friday, people! I’m back from a photo shoot in LA, and excited to share some of my most delightful finds this week: from inspiration to relaxation, and from handy cloud-sourced software availability to great new tunes. Enjoy!
Dropbox integrates with Microsoft Office — Mac users rejoice! If, like me, you experimented with Pages and Numbers on your Mac, and found that years of using Office made the Apple software very unintuitive, you can now edit Office documents in your web browser via Dropbox — without purchasing the desktop version of the software. How wonderful is that!
Slow Motion Miracles – Sachal — I first met Sachal Vasandani in a cafe in Ann Arbor, Michigan, when he was singing with some other friends in a jazz group. I’ve been a fan of his incredible voice through many years when we both lived in NYC, and was so excited to learn he just released this album on Sony. The album is a new turn for him — with a more contemporary sound than straight-ahead jazz, yet with no less sophistication in the use of his voice as an “instrument.” He’s an amazing singer-songwriter who created a something super easy to listen to — awesome for the car, mellow times, and with kids.
Barefoot Yoga Silk Eye Pillow — This little indulgence has been making me happy, not just during shavasana at the end of yoga class, but getting into bed at night, too. Who knew a gentle weight over the eyes could be so relaxing? Grab one of these at your favorite local yoga studio to start and end the weekend off right — with deep, restorative sleep.
Lazaretto – Jack White — It is definitely worth purchasing a turntable and getting the new Jack White album on vinyl so you can see the hologram embedded on it in person, but barring that, I highly recommend the title track single, Lazaretto.
Inc. Magazine’s Malcolm Gladwell article — Geared towards entrepreneurs, this article distills Gladwell’s poignancy down to a 5-point burst of punch-packing inspiration. Outliers is probably my favorite of his books – what’s yours?
Not sure about you, but this will be me this weekend:
