I’m ecstatic to announce my first group show opening in Cleveland at the Greenhouse Tavern on Sunday, September 25th. Along with five other brilliant local photographers, I’m part of “Welcome Back Cleveland, an Analogue Perspective of the New / Old City We Call Home.” Expect an awesome opening party. Farewell, Brooklyn – Last Shoot Days
It’s official! My final days of shooting in Brooklyn and Manhattan [for awhile, at least] are coming up fast. The last day for booking with me is August 29th, and I am working hard to make myself available to everyone who would like a shoot before that day.
Thank You, New York
It’s been 9.5 years since I relocated to New York City. I’ve had amazing opportunities to work with gifted people on films, film festivals, photo shoots, advertisements, and TV shows. I’ve collaborated with amazing artists, actors, actresses, and musicians. I’ve had the honor of photographing dozens and dozens of couples and families. It’s been quite a journey from exploring all that New York had to offer me in the entertainment industry, to launching my business as a wedding photographer, to transitioning to a thriving family, baby, and child photography specialty.
I have been literally bombarded with inspiration here, from my peers, from my competitors, from my mentors. I am bursting with new ideas, including new mediums, new ways of expression, new services to offer my clients, and new services that will serve the needs of new clients.
Pennsylvania – Picnic Park
Driving back to New York from the mid-west, I stopped at this little rest stop in Pennsylvania, near the New Jersey border. It was too early in the morning and too foggy for picnickers, but the picnic tables themselves seem to become creatures with personalities in the morning mist.
Ohio Countryside
Although I have had the chance to spend some time in Ohio every summer since I left at age 17, I never cease to be mesmerized by its magic that time of year. The landscape is so incredibly lush and green, and the days seem so long with the sun setting around 9.30 p.m. at the solstice. If I could take photos of the fragrance of summer in Ohio, that would truly be the way to encapsulate it. But these photos will have to suffice to conjure the scents of evergreens, honeysuckle, and green grass wafting in the fresh air. Continue reading “Ohio Countryside”
Ann Arbor Michigan — Family Photos, No. 2
Continuing my shooting time at the Law Quad, I photographed a second family. I just love the archways and the stone work of the architecture here; it lends a classic feel to the modern family photo shoot. My favorites from this set are the series of mom and son snuggling, and of dad tossing his little girl in the air. So much love!

Ann Arbor, Michigan – Family Photos, No. 1
This summer, I traveled to Ann Arbor, hometown of my alma mater, University of Michigan, for several family photo sessions. In the spirit of editorial-style photography, I wanted to capture a modern look and feel for these families, using settings that showcase the city in its super-green summer state.

Cold Weather Portraits
Whether we stayed indoors, or ventured outside, this winter in New York yielded my clients and I some gorgeous natural-light portraits. The relaxed winter months are a perfect time for a shooting the cozy close-ups that parents love. Here are a few of my favorites from the season.

Holiday Cheer
Every year, I have the good fortune of helping families to spread holiday cheer by crafting portraits for their holiday cards. Below are a few of my favorites from 2010.
This triptych was a small tri-fold, and I thought the colors were so cheery! I also loved photographing Barney the dog.
